Aces and Spades sets you and your team on a mission that hurls you into the wilds of the American Old West. But nothing is as it seems. Isles of Mist
Enter an extraordinary world of floating islands, magical mists, impressive creatures, and complex social dynamics. If you're lucky enough, you might catch a ride on a grand but, rare, legendary airship or dragon. The world is new - even to those who inhabit it. Adventurers are in high demand. How do you play the game?
For each team table, you have a choice of our dice or playing card based system. Both options provide a tabletop roleplaying game which gives each player the opportunity to step into the shoes of a fictional hero. Escape from the daily grind by leveraging the power of imagination!
What is the Card Game System?
"Aces and Spades" is the role-playing game system designed by educator and Story Tables co-founder Ashton MacSaylor. It is also the name of on of our theme settings but it can be adapted to fit many themes and stories. The game is optimized for speed and flexibility, telling cooperative stories in a fictional of your choosing.
Who are the Story Guides?
Using either of our game systems, Story Guides take you through a unique adventure built around the setting of your choosing. They help the player build a character or offer prebuilt characters for shorter games. Their narration will guide players through different encounters, while roleplaying a multitude of characters, both friends and foes.
Assistant Story Guides
There are times when the main Story Guides will need assistance with large numbers of people in a session or group. In these events, Ashton and Callie recruit other talented storytellers, actors, and gamers who are versed in the Story Tables game systems. Rest assured that all Assistant Story Guides are chosen with care in order for Story Tables to bring you the best experience possible.
